So Joey took videos most daily, to document our trip. And since most of the time I was either filming, or in the videos, I figured they would be good to put here for posterity (plus, i’ve been working on a big recap blog post, and I need a break. It’s TLDR even for me so far).

June 2nd, 2011And It’s All Vanity
August 3rd, 2010I created and mailed 3 new compliations to my friend Josh this week. As usual, I used some photography from my trips for the artwork. Another usual for me, is naming the disc from a lyric on that particular disc. Click on an image for a larger view and the ability to scroll.
Infine è Rifinito
March 21st, 2010Finally, I have finished my day-to-day trip journal from my trip to Italy May 5, 2009 – May 28, 2009. Its only taken me nearly a year! Although I still plan to post snides about all the food, and reviews of all the places we stayed, this concludes my day-to-day journal. I hope you enjoyed it. Here are the last 3 that I just posted today.

Experience Your America – Remember Pearl Harbor
December 7th, 2009A couple of years ago I took a trip with Debbie, Steve, Lisa, Vicki and Juan to Oahu. We originally were going to see U2 perform, but U2 sadly cancelled their show. Due to poor weather, we spent most of the trip travelling around the island getting a personal tour from my parents, who used to live there. It ended up being a really special trip doing things I wouldn’t normally do in Hawaii.
One of the things we did, was go visit the USS Arizona Memorial. Always a sobering experience of history, I was able to learn more personal information about the day and the people of December 7, 1941.
On each of our tickets was biographical information about someone involved. I saved three of these tickets and today being December 7th, I’d like to acknowledge these brave men and women again.
John William Finn
Los Angeles, California
Chief Aviation Ordnance Man
United States Navy
Kaneohe Naval Air Station
For extraordinary heroism…
Chief Finn promptly secured and manned a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on an instruction stand in a completely exposed section of the ramp which was under heavy enemy machine gun fire…Painfully wounded many times, he continued to man this gun and return the enemy’s fire vigorously and with telling effect throughout the enemy bombing and strafing attacks.
…received the Medal of Honor
James G. Daniels III
Kansas City, Missouri
Ensign
United States Navy Aviator
USS Enterprise
Wing and a Prayer
On the evening of December 7, 1941, Ensign Daniels was part of an air search comprised of six F4F “Wildcat” fighters. Their mission was to locate the Japanese Fleet. Unable to find the enemy, they were ordered to land on Oahu. On arrival at Pearl Harbor, they were mistaken for the enemy and five of the six aircraft were shot down. Two pilots were killed instantly, one died later and three survived, including Ensign Daniels. He was the only pilot to land safely at the naval station on Ford Island. After his harrowing experience, he called to tell his wife, Helen, that he was okay and very much alive.
Doris Miller
Waco, Texas
Mess Attendant, 2nd Class
United States Navy
USS West Virginia
First African-American to receive…
For devotion to duty, extraordinary courage and disregard for his own personal safety during the attack on Pearl Harbor…While at the side of his Captain on the bridge of the battleship USS West Virginia, Miller, despite enemy bombing and strafing and in the face of serious fire, assisted in moving his Captain who had been mortally wounded, to a place of greater safety and operated a machine gun until ordered to leave the bridge.

Italy Continued
November 7th, 2009It takes me a long time to debrief. When I return from a vacation, or an event like a birthday or Christmas, it often takes me awhile to process and conclude. Sometimes its Christmas time before I have organized, and sorted through birthday presents. And in the case of my trip to Italy, sometimes the debriefing goes into the next year.
Its not that I don’t care or that these things aren’t on my mind. It’s merely that life moves fast and sometimes you have to stick things on the side just to keep up.
Since it had been so long since my trip, I had decided that I was going to wait until I had the final 8 journals and 3 review posts done and then post them all at once. But I found that this was making it a larger task, and I needed to have some check marks.
So today, I have back dated and posted 5 new Italy journals. I still have 3 more to get on here, plus 3 reviews. But I needed some momentum. Hopefully I did that with these 5. I will get the others soon (within the next year?).
Remember, you can view any post that I have put into the “Italy” category on the right. You can also go to these 5 directly.

Smother Me With Words
July 31st, 2009My friend from college, Annette Richards, wife of Andrew-who once wrote a guest snide– recently made a list on her facebook. Her list was of different musicisans she had come to like, because a friend of hers shared them with her.
I thought it was really cool, and at the same time, I wanted to be on that list. So I was determined to come up with some good songs or artists that she might not have heard of. I sent her a list of songs and artists, and she had heard of a few of them. So I took the remainders, and along with my great birthday cd of 2006 (I should post that one too), I sent her 2 cds with artist samplers. Maybe she will fall in love with one of the artists (I predict Phoenix), and I can make her list. Here are the cd’s.

Back To The Future
June 2nd, 2009I got behind on posting and writing up my journals from my trip. To my reader(s) out there, I still plan on writing and posting those. When I do, I will backdate them to the date of the day that I am writing about. I just finished publishing one from May 16 that you can see by scrolling down to that date. Thank you for your love and support. Keep checking as I post in the future, past journal entries from my trip.
